  34.     Abstract:
  35.       This coverage includes points that describe selected major 
  36.       cities of the Far East (China, Japan, Mongolia, North and 
  37.       South Korea, and Taiwan; and portions of Cambodia, Laos, 
  38.       Thailand and Vietnam).
  39.     Purpose:
  40.       To depict selected major cities as a locational reference 
  41.       to Open File Report 97-470F Maps Showing Geology,
  42.       Geologic Provinces, and Oil and Gas Fields of the Asia
  43.       Pacific Region; Plate 1: The Far East, which is being compiled
  44.       as a reference for the U.S. Geological Survey's World Energy
  45.       Project assessment of undiscovered, technically recoverable
  46.       oil and gas resources of the world. This coverage is used to
  47.       produce a map and an Adobe Acrobat Portable Document of
  48.       the map to be published on CD-ROM. An Arcview shapefile
  49.       derived from this coverage is used in an Arcview project.
